WEEK 3

In this week's lecture, we spoke about blogs, why should we use one, how to create a good website or blog and we also spoke about social media. I also continued to create my website.

Blog
In order to create a good blog, I need to:
  • make it interesting for the audience
  • make it attractive
  • understand what problem can the blog "solve"
Website and Social Media

This blog will help everyone that is interested in more detailed information about my website,  https://rib17108683.wixsite.com/mysite, understand what are my intentions while creating it.
"A website attempts to deliver just three types of Outcomes: Increase revenue, Reduce cost, Improve customer satisfaction/loyalty." Kaushik (2009)

In this case we are creating a website to increase revenue and raise awareness for Janet and David's business.

I started by changing the background, add some photos, edit the home page and add new social media accounts such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Blogger (this one). In order to create awareness of a business, a single website will not work, so, the role of social media is very important but not all social media resources work, we need to be focused in platforms where our target is.

WEEK 2

In this week's lesson we learned about the uses of e-Business, its categories and the main reasons for e-Business. We also started the website on Wix.

In terms of e-Business categories we have:
  • Business to Consumer (B2C)
  • Business to Business (B2B)
  • Business to Government (B2G) - According to the book "Government Information Quarterly", in the page 122, B2G is "Any form of resource and information exchange (transacting and contracting) between involved actors like companies and governmental agencies and their customers, suppliers or other partners by developing and maintaining dedicated inter-organizational systems,…”.
  • Consumer to Consumer (C2C) – Example: EBAY
E-Business is important for companies to:
  • Organise the communication and business processes
  • Marketing the business to existing and potential customers
  • Facilitate interactions with other businesses
As I said last week, e-Business “is used to describe all the businesses and proceders in an eletronic network.” This is important for us to take into consideration when creating a website because we need to know everything about the business online, including consumer behaviour or even the competitor’s website.
For companies it is important, so they can collect the information pretended in order to create promotions, segment a market, market researches, develop new products, etc.

To finish this week’s lecture, I started my website in which I will create an Online Shop to sell Health & Wellness products.
