WEEK 10

This week I decided to focus my attention on the mobile version of my website. Nowadays everyone searches on their smartphones instead of going to a computer so the mobile version of any website is important because it can be the first contact between the brand and the customer.

For my mobile version I focused in 3 aspects:
  • Presentation of the portfolio
  • The main menu
  • The payment process

After creating the mobile version, I wasn’t totally satisfied with the final result because some of the features that I added in the website are different, in a negative way, on the mobile version. The Discount page isn’t showing the products’ image making it difficult for the customer to understand which products are in discount. Also, in the Health & Wellness page, the Sort By button doesn’t appear on the screen.

When analysing the two ways of communication for the company FitCloud in detail and, besides these negative aspects previously mentioned, I’m satisfied with the final result of both, website and mobile app.

WEEK 9

In this week's lecture, I finished the main structure of my website. After last week, I created the social media of my website and continued adding more products to my portfolio, this week, I completed all section of the menu.

I started by the Discounts page, adding all products in discount and giving to the customers the possibility of using our discount that I already referred on week 5, 18xmas18.

After, I went to the Health & Wellness page to observe my portfolio and trying to put some features in it. I manage to place a Sort By button in which the consumer can sort the portfolio by price or name. I also wanted to put a menu on the side where the customer could filter the products by different types, such as, colour, price, rating (another feature that I wanted to add)…

To complete my website, I went to the Recipe of the Day page and edit it. My idea was to create a 7 day portfolio of food which means, the website would provide ideas of meals, from breakfast until dinner, every day. Since this take a lot of work and it’s not a key point for this website, I decided only to include the meal of the day (lunch only) and the yesterday’s lunch.

WEEK 8

This week, we talked about remarketing, and how can this tool help building a more accurate website and attract more consumers.

When a customer is on our website it doesn’t mean that he/she is going to purchase something so, through remarketing, we can track these customers and make them change their mind by putting ads related to our products on social media. In this case, since we are a health & wellness company, I would use Google Analytics and Adwords since “they can help you track specific behaviors on your website”, and advertise on Instagram and Facebook.

Having this week’s lecture in scope, I decided to create FitCloud’s social media accounts such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. My idea was to link the social media with my website and with this try to advertise the most interesting products for each target such as products with a discount or even recent products. Also, I kept in upgrading the website by changing the design and add more products to the portfolio.

WEEK 7

This week we talked about e-CRM (Electronic-Customer Relationship Management) and how can we use that to improve the website, the profit of the company and attract more customers.
In order to create a good relationship with the consumers, the company needs to show its values and demonstrate how important consumers are. So, this week I decided to write the "About Us" page to connect what we learned with my website.

In this page, I started by introducing the company, explaining what type of products are being sold, what type of consumer is it targeting and show what are the values of FitCloud. I also explain that this company values a lot the services provided to the consumer, such as Next Day Delivery, Insurance Policies, Free Delivery and Return Policies.

Besides this, I also tried to create a Premium Account inside the company’s website in order to retain the consumers and give more benefits to these loyal consumers. Unfortunately, the programme doesn’t allow me to creating this method of  communication between the company and customers.

To finish the week, I changed the colours, the backgrounds and the font due to the fact that last week I’ve came up with the name and slogan for the company.

WEEK 6

I started this week by organizing the website and understand what do I have to do in order to make it interesting and attractive. So I decided to divide the Health & Wellness into 4 different pages, Bars & Snacks, Vitamin Supplements and Acessories & Equipment.

After dividing the website and adding some products to the portfolio, I started a Brainstorm to come up with the best name for the website. After 30/35 minutes of Brainstorming, I came up with 11 names and selected the best 3 to choose from, Bfit, FitCloud and Pure Fit. After analyzing all the names I decided to choose FitCloud because it’s the most appropriated with the company’s values and portfolio available.

Consequently, I had to create a catchy slogan that represents the company and their values. I came up with “The sky is the limit”. This slogan is linked with the value that we give to the consumer. It also is compared to the company, the sky is used as a cloud and the limit is the quality products.

WEEK 5

In week 5, we learned more about Social Media and the importance that has in a business, essentially, online. It is important to communicate with our target in several different ways in order to create awareness and understand what they want to see in the website. So, as I said last week, I decided to create some social media accounts for this company, such as, facebook, instagram, spotify and a blog.

I notice, this week, that an important service that can be used to make a consumer loyal is customer advocacy. After the website is finished and ready to be exposed, for the loyal consumers we will have a personal discount (15%), which means that any time they give their discount to someone and they use it, the person with its own discount will receive a small percentage of that sale.

For now, I decided to create a Christmas discount of 30% for the first 500 people to use it. To obtain this discount, the consumer only needs to input "18xmas18" to obtain it. To finish this week, I also started to add some products in order to organize the portfolio and understand what type of layout I want.

WEEK 4

This week we learned how the consumer behaves online and how the decision making process works. I also continued to improving my website.

This week, I focused in the aesthetics of my website in order to make it interesting, creative and attractive.

Since we talked about consumer behaviour and decision making, I thought it would be important to create a home page, and a website in general, that will attractive because it will be the first thing that the consumer will see. I also put a pop up video, promoting a healthier lifestyle in people's lives. According to these changes, the consumers will have a different perspective compared with the competition’s website.

A model of the relationship between different aspects of trust and
consumer response based on the categories of Bart et al. (2005)
My website is being based in this model (picture above) because it links the behaviour and demand of consumers with the company's website.
I started with the Navigation and presentation part, in order to organize the information and be easily to access everything.

WEEK 3

In this week's lecture, we spoke about blogs, why should we use one, how to create a good website or blog and we also spoke about social media. I also continued to create my website.

Blog
In order to create a good blog, I need to:
  • make it interesting for the audience
  • make it attractive
  • understand what problem can the blog "solve"
Website and Social Media

This blog will help everyone that is interested in more detailed information about my website,  https://rib17108683.wixsite.com/mysite, understand what are my intentions while creating it.
"A website attempts to deliver just three types of Outcomes: Increase revenue, Reduce cost, Improve customer satisfaction/loyalty." Kaushik (2009)

In this case we are creating a website to increase revenue and raise awareness for Janet and David's business.

I started by changing the background, add some photos, edit the home page and add new social media accounts such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Blogger (this one). In order to create awareness of a business, a single website will not work, so, the role of social media is very important but not all social media resources work, we need to be focused in platforms where our target is.

WEEK 2

In this week's lesson we learned about the uses of e-Business, its categories and the main reasons for e-Business. We also started the website on Wix.

In terms of e-Business categories we have:
  • Business to Consumer (B2C)
  • Business to Business (B2B)
  • Business to Government (B2G) - According to the book "Government Information Quarterly", in the page 122, B2G is "Any form of resource and information exchange (transacting and contracting) between involved actors like companies and governmental agencies and their customers, suppliers or other partners by developing and maintaining dedicated inter-organizational systems,…”.
  • Consumer to Consumer (C2C) – Example: EBAY
E-Business is important for companies to:
  • Organise the communication and business processes
  • Marketing the business to existing and potential customers
  • Facilitate interactions with other businesses
As I said last week, e-Business “is used to describe all the businesses and proceders in an eletronic network.” This is important for us to take into consideration when creating a website because we need to know everything about the business online, including consumer behaviour or even the competitor’s website.
For companies it is important, so they can collect the information pretended in order to create promotions, segment a market, market researches, develop new products, etc.

To finish this week’s lecture, I started my website in which I will create an Online Shop to sell Health & Wellness products.

WEEK 1

We started the first week by creating a blog (blogger.com) and a website account (wix.com). After that, we talked about what is the meaning of e-Business, e-Commerce and e-Marketing, and what are the differences between them.

E-Commerce is the process of purchasing or selling a product/service, or an exchange of data or funds through an eletronic network, mainly internet.

E-Business is used to describe all the businesses and proceders in an eletronic network. E-Business includes a B2B (Business to Business) negotiation as well as a B2C (Business to Consumer). On top of this, E-Business also includes market research and market analysis.
Regarding e-Marketing, it has the objectives of inform, spread and promote products or services, conquer new clients and keep the loyal ones satisfied.

Marketing-Mix is influenced by e-Marketing in terms of:
- Place: With online Marketing, the products will have more demand because they are not restricted to a certain area, they can be observed and purchased from around the world.
- Promotion: E-Marketing will create more awareness of products/services than traditional Marketing.
- Price: E-Marketing is important in terms of price because you can receive a notification/e-mail with discounts or coupons.
- Product: It's possible to promote a new product/service in a country that doesn't have a physical store of that company or brand.

To finish the day we create an account at Smart Insights to help us with our market research.
